Auburn Gymnastics Center boys and girls gymnastics teams finish season strong.

 

AUBURN-The level 7 girls and level 5 boys gymnastics seasons came to a close this weekend with more than a dozen top 10 finishes between the seven gymnasts competing.

   Boys team members Rhett Miller, Brady Turner and David Hunt finished strong in Oroville, Calif. while level 7 girls team members Devin VanBurkleo, Kendall Sprowl, Janna Woodward, Elizabeth Jordan and Haley Christenson traveled to San Rafael, Calif. for their championship meet.
  Eleven-year-old Janna Woodward finished in the top ten on vault (8.725) and floor (9.1), 10-year-old Devin VanBurkleo was in the top ten on vault, 12-year-old Elizabeth Jordan finished 8th on beam (9.075) and 15-year-old Haley Christenson finished in the top 10 on vault (9.025), bars ( 8.1) and floor (9.175). Each competed in their respective age divisions.

  The meet was the end of a three month long competition season where qualifying score were needed to make the state competition more than 300 girls competed.
   Auburn Gymnastics Center’s optional girl’s gymnastics season continues in two weeks as level 8 regional qualifier Kellie Oesterling travels to Long Beach, Calif. for her final championship meet of the season.
