State Championship in Brentwood!

 

  AUBURN - With a stand out score of 9.35 out of a possible 10 Janna Woodward, of Auburn Gymnastics Center, won the bronze at the state championship in Brentwood, Calif. on Sunday. Woodward captured an additional medal on bars with a 9.025 scoring an all-around of 35.6 to finish the season.
   Teammate Elizabeth Jordan earned a total of 35.975 scoring big on floor with a 9.3 and placing in the top 10 on bars where she earned an 8.75.
   “The girls turned in exceptional performances and both walked away with two medals from heir state championship meet,” said Coach Natalie Otis. “Janna (Woodward) left me speechless on vault while Lizzy (Elizabeth Jordan) showed us what she could do on floor.” The duo of level 7 girls represented the local club against more than 480 girls in California at the 2011 Level 7 State Championships. “The competition was unbelievable,” Otis said. “It is a great feeling to stand tall and think we deserved to be here and we can beat these guys.”
   The team will travel to 2011 Regional Championships in two weeks in Anaheim, Calif. Level 8 gymnasts Kellie Oesterling and Alice Neff will compete for Auburn on April 17.
