Auburn Gymnastics Center takes 5 silvers on the bars at Level 5 State Championships in Rancho Cordova!

 

AUBURN -Despite tough competition, Auburn Gymnastics Center level five takes silver on the bars.
  Twelve-year-old Finn Thomas of Auburn Gymnastics Center of Auburn Gymnastics Center won second place on the bars at the 2012 NorCal Level 5 States in Rancho Cordova over the weekend. The Auburn gymnast scored a 9.175 wowing the judges with a superbly executed and powerful performance.
  Thomas was one of two to qualify from Auburn Gymnastics Center’s level 5 team. Thomas joined Midori Ogino with more than 600 other competitors from Northern California to compete against all the best gymnast in each of the girls’ age groups. Thomas competed in the 12a division and Ogino competed in 11d.
  “These girls are among the best in the state and went head to head holding their heads up high and representing our gym well,” Coach Jennifer Christenson said.
  Thomas and Ogino together received three medals for finishing in the top in their respective age divisions. Ogino’s top medal was on the beam where she placed 5th.
  Level 4 State Championships is on Nov. 17 and 18 in Oroville, Calif. Auburn is taking a team of eight qualifiers.
“Our expectations are high for quite a few of the girls on the team,” Christenson said. “This is going to be a landmark meet for us.”
