  AUBURN - Auburn Gymnastics Center’s teams were out competing in Rancho Cordova, California on Sunday where the X-Cel team took home the silver. For some the meet was finishing their five month season on a high note for others marking the start of a new level.
   Cassidy Noreen, Haley Christenson, Shelby Jungers and Kaitlin Woytus pulled together to take the silver team award in the gold and platinum divisions of the X-Cel gymnastics competition. Highlights of the day came from Cassidy Noreen who won first on beam (9.45), floor (9.425) and all-around (36.4). She took second on vault (9.025) and bars (8.5).
   Haley Christenson won vault (9.225) and bars (8.8) placing second in the all-around and third on floor (9.275). Shelby Jungers won fourth on vault (8.95), bars (8.3) and floor (9.25) while Kaitlin Woytus won second place on floor (9.375) and fourth on beam (8.8). In their final meet of the season the Auburn Gymnastics Center level 7 gymnasts from Auburn took home the gold with Janna Woodward placing first on floor with a 9.275 and Elizabeth Jordan taking first on bars with a 9.0. Woodward was first in the all-around with a 35.525 and Jordan was second with a 35.375. Level 6 Madison Candler competed her first meet as a level 6 gymnast and won first place on floor with an 8.775 and third on vault with a 9.0.
   Level 5 gymnasts from Auburn also had their first meet at their new level with Finn Thomas, Allyson Osborn, Kristen Kopp and Emily Benson competing. Osborn ruled the meet by taking second in the all-around (35.250) and second on bars (8.75) and third on vault (8.725). Kristen Kopp placed in the top 10 on vault, beam floor and all-around. Emily Benson placed in the top 10 on vault while Finn Thomas placed in the top 10 on vault and floor.
   The gymnastics teams will take two-week break then resume competition May 21 with the X-Cel state-wide championship meet.
