Watch Out World...Here Comes Auburn Gymnastics Center!

 

AUBURN-The gymnastics team from Auburn Gymnastics amassed another title in Roseville making it three for three 1st place team wins this season.

“We have never had a year like this – way to go girls,” said Coach Haley Christenson-Sain. “This was a bit of a nail bitter but in the end we had it by a point.”

The Level 4 team was lead by Sierra Gartrell and Maya Thrasher each won first place in their respective age divisions with a 36.525 by Gartrell and 35.5 by Thrasher followed closely by Midori Ogino who took second (35.875).

Both Ogino and Thrasher took 1st place on beam. Ogino scored a personal best of a 9.55 and Thrasher a 9.4. Ogino and Thrasher also won the floor with a 9.35 for Ogino and a 9.0 for Thrasher.

Gartrell wowed with a 9.5 on the bars and a 9.45 on the beam she won bars and placed second on the beam.

Rebekah Durham, Annaliese Nobile, Annah Sutherland and Breanna Phillips all had their best day on the vault. Nobile took 2nd, Phillips took 3rd and Durham and Sutherland took 4th on vault.

The Level 3 team of 15 also competed in Roseville. The top placements came from Marissa Jilot and Rylee Prechter. The two won their respective age divisions. Jilot with a 37.35 and Prechter with a 35.3. Madison Albee placed 2nd with a 36.625. Kennedy Ambrosia had the 4th highest all-around on the team and took silver on the vault and bars and Alexa Tan was just behind with a 34.1 followed by Kirsten Jilot with a 33.8 and Kyla Rector with a 33.5.

Teammates Rosie Doupnik, Karly Stout, Talia Keaveny, Mariah Belman and Grace Douden all scored between 32.4 and 31.8 getting event score averages of 8 or better.

Lila Aroz had her best performance on the vault earning an 8.75, Carley Mickel also did her best on the vault with a 9.075 while bars stood out as Delaney Stetka’s best, she placed in the top 10.

The teams have their next meet in Oroville the weekend of October 25 to 27.

“We are going back to the gym and working hard to make the fixes we can,” Christenson-Sain said. “We know we have to do better to stay on top.”
