AUBURN — The Auburn Gymnastics Center Level 4, 5 and 6 gymnastics teams were out in force representing Auburn on Sunday at the 2009 Disco-Tech Invitational in Ranch Cordova, Calif. Overall, 3 level 4 gymnasts have earned a 34.5 all-around and are qualified for the upcoming USA State Meet and all 16 members of the level 4, 5 and 6 teams have qualified for the local Zone Championship in Roseville.
“We have some more work on floor and beam before our next meet, but overall I was proud,” said Coach Jennifer Christenson. “We are very pleased with our teams.”
   Competing in the level 6 group was Elizabeth Jordan and Janna Woodward. Both gymnasts showed notable improvements over their previous meet in Sacramento two weeks ago and each walked away with four medals for their efforts for a combine total of eight medals for the level 6 team. “Both Janna (Woodward) and Elizabeth (Jordan) are good all around competitors,” Christenson said. “We are extremely happy with their
efforts. These are definitely gymnasts to watch.”

   First year competitor Madison Candler lead the level 4 team by scoring 34.6 All-around in the middle age division. She was followed by Megan Leaman who earned an all-around score of 34.5 and Allyson Osborn who received a total of 33.8 combined score from her performance on the vault, bars, beam and floor. Fellow teammates and their high placing and scoring events include Arieal Swindell (8.875 on vault), Julia Foster (8.9 on vault), Finn Thomas (8.5 on floor), Madelyn Schlidmeyer (9.075 on vault) , Elene Closson(8.9 on vault), Emily Benson ( 8.9 on vault) and Kara Christenson (7.7 on floor).
    The Auburn Gymnastics Center level five team was represented by Kaitlin Woytus and Kelcey Phillips, The duo improved from their last meet by posting four scores that received more than an 80 percent approval from the judges for all of the skills combined in their routines. Both have also qualified to the local championship meet to be held in Roseville.
“This is the third competition for Kaitlin (Woytus) and she has been working hard to fix some of her problem areas on bars and it definitely showed,” said Christenson.
