AUBURN – It all came down to one gymnastics meet – make it, or the season ends – and they did it.


   Both Zeph Thomas and Bruce Dunigan from Auburn Gymnastics Center battled it out against other kids their age for a spot at the State Championship Gymnastics meet in Berkley, Calif. on March 13 and they both rose to the occasion making the necessary scores.

  Thomas finished the 2012 NCBGA Level 5 / 6 State Qualifier meet with an 83.1 in the 8 years and older division. His scores were 13.90 (9th) on floor 13.80 (7th) on pommel, 13.80 (7th) on rings, 13.30 (7th) on vault, 14.200 (5th) on parallel bars and 14.10 (3rd) on high bar.
   Dunigan competed in the 9 year and older division. He scored a total of 81.10 (8th) with the individual events at 12.9 (10th) for floor, 13.60 (7th) for pommel, 13.10 (10th) on rings, 14.40 (6th) on vault, 13.20 (8th) on parallel bars and 13.90 (4th) on high bar.
   The boys’ team will continue to train as their season continues.
